On May 6, 2024, at 7:46PM, Colorado State Patrol attempted a traffic stop with a vehicle at I25 and Fillmore Street southbound. The driver of the vehicle eluded CSP and the CSP Trooper did not pursue. The vehicle continued through the off ramp crossed eastbound lanes of traffic, continued into the westbound traffic lanes striking multiple vehicles, hitting the curb, an overhead light, and rolling multiple times before coming to rest in the southbound on ramp to I25. The driver fled on foot, while CSP was checking on the other drivers hit by the suspect driver. One of the other drivers was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Colorado Springs Police officers responded to the scene and handled the crash investigation. CSP is continuing their investigation to identify the driver for the eluding and other related crash charges. The on ramp to I25 Southbound at Fillmore Street was closed for an extended time. Colorado Springs Utilities responded to attend the down light.

Officers were dispatched to investigate a reported domestic disturbance that was still occurring. Upon arrival, officers quickly determined that there were grounds to make an arrest for a domestic violence related assault. While two officers were attempting to detain the adult female, she violently resisted their efforts to control her, and she kicked one officer in his inner thigh/groin causing pain.
The adult female was subdued by these two officers without any further incident and was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center for charges stemming from the original domestic violence complaint (misdemeanors) as well as the assault on a peace officer, which is a felony.

The suspect and the occupants of the suspect home voluntarily exited. During the course of the investigation officers learned the initial disturbance stemmed from a child exchange. A physical disturbance proceeded the shots being fired. No parties were injured by gunfire. The suspect was arrested and booked into CJC. The gun was recovered.

When officers opened the door of the vehicle to check on the driver she woke up and refused to exit the vehicle. She then attempted to put the vehicle into gear to evade officers. Pepper spray was deployed and the driver was removed from the car. Multiple types of narcotics were found within the vehicle. Lydia Denius was arrested for felony level drug possession, obstruction and DUI/DUID.

On May 2nd, 2024, at approximately 10:45AM, members of CSPD Motor Vehicle Theft Unit, the Robbery Unit and Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) located a stolen truck, which had been taken from Monument Colorado just before 6:00AM. In the original carjacking from Monument, the suspect had been involved in a crash on I-25 in Monument, where he crashed a previously stolen car taken from Colorado Springs on April 24th. . The suspect fled the accident scene on foot and stole another vehicle by brandishing a handgun at a victim sitting in his truck in the 1700 block of Jackson Creek Parkway in Monument Colorado. The suspect was involved in a pursuit with Colorado State Patrol on the interstate in the Castle Rock area but was not apprehended at the time. When CSPD located the vehicle later in the morning members of TEU contacted the vehicle and the male suspect fled on foot, but he was quickly apprehended. The suspect was found to be in possession of a handgun and illegal narcotics. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Christopher Esquivel. CSPD would like to thank Monument Police Department and Colorado State Patrol for quickly sharing information which greatly helped investigators with this case.

On 4/30/2024, Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force detectives were working the apprehension of Corey Williams. Williams had active warrants for his arrest for 1st degree assault, aggravated robbery, and escape. These warrants stemmed from 2 CSPD cases and 1 EPSO case. Detectives observed Williams enter into a vehicle at an apartment complex near Galley and Murray. Surveillance was conducted on this vehicle as it travelled around various locations of Colorado Springs and unincorporated El Paso County. Motor Vehicle Theft detectives assisted with surveillance as Williams continued to travel throughout the metro area. Ultimately, Williams was followed to a residence in the 6700 block of Phantom Way. EPSO SWAT Tac Teams, and CSPD K-9 officers assisted with the arrest and Williams was taken into custody without incident.

When Officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle it fled from Officers. A short vehicle pursuit was initiated, and the suspect vehicle subsequently wrecked in the 3100 block of East Bijou Street. Both occupants fled on foot from the vehicle and were quickly apprehended by Officers. Brian Lecomte (31) and Emilie Deering (27) were taken into custody for outstanding warrants, vehicular eluding, motor vehicle theft, robbery and menacing.
