On 01/21/24 officers responded to the 5300 block of Kingscote Dr. for a reported shooting, and later determined an adult male and a juvenile male sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Detectives with the Strategic Investigations Unit (SIU) assumed the investigation due to having previously investigated several of the parties involved to include known members of criminal organizations. During the course of the investigation, detectives served thirty-one (31) search warrants to include social media, cell phone, body and residential. It was also learned one of the guns used in the shooting was stolen by the grandson of an At-Risk Adult. SIU Detectives obtained arrest warrants for three juvenile males, one juvenile female and two adult males who were charges with a combination of the following crimes: Attempted First Degree Murder First and Second-Degree Assault Aggravated Robbery Menacing Theft from an At-Risk Adult Numerous weapon possession charges Conspiracy to commit several of the above charges Tampering with Evidence
Some of the offenders were known prolific offenders who continue to commit violent crimes despite having past and current court cases.

On Friday 04/19/2024, at 2:37 PM, Members of the Colorado Springs Police Department, Falcon Division, were dispatched to the area of N Powers Blvd and Old Ranch Road regarding a multi-vehicle traffic crash with injuries. Upon arrival officers discovered a three-car crash. One of the drivers was transported from the scene with life threatening injuries. All the other drivers and passengers were treated and released on scene. During the investigation officers were notified that the driver who was transported had succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Due to the nature of the crash the Major Crash Team was notified and responded to assume the investigation.

On 04/18/2024 at approximately 7:30pm the Metro Vice Unit successfully concluded an investigation into Human Trafficking and Pimping of an adult female victim by arresting the suspect with the combined efforts of TEU, K9, the Drone Unit, the Metro Intelligence Unit, the Metro Narcotics Unit, CSPD Patrol, CSPD VAU and the local office of HSI. The suspect was known to be violent and reported to be armed with a handgun. As a result of coordinated teamwork and the highly professional and skilled officers and Agents involved, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim was contacted and VAU coordinated services and care.

On March 18, 2024, Colorado Springs Police received a phone call for a reported shooting in the 5500 block of Constitution Ave. Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim who sustained a serious but nonlife-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they underwent treatment. The CSPD Assault unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. On April 17, 2024, the suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile Colorado Springs resident, was taken into custody by the Assault Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Enforcement Unit, Canine, and the Drone Unit in the 200 block of Rim View Drive. The juvenile is currently being held for Assault in the 1st Degree and Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile.

On 4/17/2024, at approximately 2:46 PM, Sand Creek Officers responded to a call where the reporting party advised a female was thrown from a moving vehicle. Upon arrival, medical personnel attempted to render aid, but the victim succumbed to her injury. Suspicious injuries were discovered on the deceased female. In November 2022, the Colorado Springs Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit started an investigation into an unknown subject uploading child sexual abuse material to a social media app. In 2023, detectives identified multiple possible addresses within El Paso County associated with a possible suspect but were unable to locate the suspect. In December 2023, detectives were able to identify a possible address in unincorporated El Paso County and conducted numerous hours of surveillance on the residence. On 04-11-24, a search warrant was executed in the 200 block of Dexter St. On 04-15-24, 31-year-old Sean Pinion was taken into custody on the charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Child, a class three felony.
The Colorado Springs Police Department is the lead agency for the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force which is comprised of approximately 100 affiliate law enforcement agencies throughout the state. The Colorado ICAC Task Force investigates subjects who sexually exploit and lure Colorado’s most vulnerable victims. The Colorado Springs ICAC Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Colorado Springs Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations, and a Special Agent with the Department of Army Criminal Investigation Division.

On 04/14/24 at approximately 0044 hours Sand Creek Officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of London Ln for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival they located a victim with several severe stab wounds who was transported to a local hospital. The suspect had fled the scene but was later located in the area by officers and taken into custody without incident.
On 4/13/2024 at approximately 2133 hours Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Sequoia Dr. regarding a shooting. During the investigation officers learned three unidentified males walked up behind the victim’s vehicle and fired over 40 rounds striking multiple vehicles and one residence in the area. No injuries were reported at the time of this report. The initial investigation indicates this does not appear to be a random act of violence. The investigation is ongoing.
