On 11/21/2023 at 02:26pm officers of the Stetson Hills Division were dispatched to a robbery of a bank in the 1400 block of N Academy Blvd. A male suspect had entered the bank while wearing distinctive clothing. He demanded money with a note and left the bank with the money he received. The male was contacted a short time later by patrol & K9 officers and was taken into custody with only minor injuries.
On 11/21/23 at 3:33PM, the Colorado Springs Police received a 911 call regarding a traffic crash at Chelton Road and Valley Hi Ave. When officers arrived they found a two vehicle crash. The driver of the at fault vehicle fled on foot leaving their seriously injured passenger behind in the vehicle. Officers are working to identify the run driver. Chelton Road southbound south of Airport Rd. is closed and will be until approximately 6PM.

On 11/20/2023 at approximately 0312 hours, officers were dispatched to shots fired calls for service in the 4300 block of Morning Sun Ave (Residence at Austin Bluffs). Information was obtained that a home invasion had occurred within an occupied apartment at this location. The resident fired a shot at the lone intruder who forced entry into the apartment. The suspect was located by officers in the nearby area and was taken into custody for burglary related charges. No injuries were reported.
On Saturday November 18, 2023, Officers from the CSPD Falcon Division responded to the 5000 Block of N. Nevada Avenue for a male who had broken into a warehouse. The male ran from employees and caused injury to another employee. The male fled in his vehicle from officers. He caused disturbances in three more business before being contacted in his vehicle on I-25 and taken into custody.
At approximately 9:08 PM, CSPD received a call for service regarding a shooting in the 500 Block of Bonfoy Ave. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered one adult male with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the male succumbed to his wounds and was declared deceased on scene. The Violent Crimes Section, Homicide Unit responded to the scene to assume control of the investigation. CSPD is still working to locate a suspect. There is no ongoing threat to the community.

On the above date and time, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of several wanted parties who were seen entering a residence in the 6500 block of Turret Drive. The reporting party was a bonds man who followed the subjects to the location. Additional information was provided that one of the subjects was armed with a handgun. CSPD patrol officers and members of the Tactical Enforcement Unit responded to the residence and were able to gain cooperation of the subjects who surrendered without incident. In total four individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants. Three of the subjects were juveniles and the fourth was 18-year-old Tayjwan Edwards. Detectives from the Strategic Investigations Unit responded to serve a search warrant on the residence and a firearm was recovered.

6000 Block Stetson Hills Blvd

On the above date and time, a community member patronizing a business in the 6000 block of Stetson Hills Blvd. was approached from behind by an adult male who was unknown to the community member. The male grabbed the community member around the waist and began pelvic thrusting them while breathing in their ear. The community member escaped the grasp of the male, and the male fled the location. The victim and suspect remained fully clothed throughout the incident. During the investigation, the responding officers viewed security video footage and recognized the suspect from previous investigations involving similar behavior. On 11/15/2023, the suspect was located by the investigating officers, and was taken into custody without incident.
Update to ETACS #32796 (Below) After the three robberies took place, the suspect vehicle involved in the robberies was located at a motel on N. Nevada Ave. Multiple suspects were contacted at the motel and multiple adults were arrested for outstanding warrants. Detectives with the CSPD Robbery Unit responded to the motel and assumed the investigation. One of the arrested adults was identified as 29-year-old Erik Fulton. Detectives continued the investigation and on 11/15/2023, Fulton was charged with aggravated robbery for all 3 incidents listed below, plus an additional business robbery from 10/25/2023, which occurred in the 3800 block of N. Nevada Ave. Fulton was still in custody at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center when the additional charges were filed. The investigation is continuing.
CFS # 23447942, At approximately 7:48 PM hours Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Aeroplaza Dr. regarding a robbery. A suspect entered the business brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money. CFS # 23448037, At approximately 9:40 PM Officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of N. Academy Blvd where two suspects entered the business pointed a handgun demanding money and left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash. CFS # 23448042, At approximately 9:55 hours a suspect entered a business in the 5800 block of Corporate Dr. brandished a handgun, demanded money, and left with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect entering all three businesses was dressed the same and appeared to be the same person based on video footage and witness statements from the businesses

200 Block of South Academy Blvd "Bird Sanctuary"

On 11/14/2023 and 11/15/2023 from 11AM-7PM officers with the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) conducted a deployment in the 200 block of South Academy Blvd regarding trespassing/camping/littering/fires and narcotics complaints, received from community members and business owners. The Complaints have been ongoing for several months. The area includes the businesses and the field behind the businesses known as the " Bird Sanctuary". The area in is bordered by East Pikes Peak to the North, South Academy to the East, Airport Rd to the South and Audubon Drive to the West. During the operation HOT Officers contacted dozens of individuals and obtained the following results: 5 Camping/Waterway Citations, 10 Trespassing Citations, 9 Drug Paraphernalia Citations, 2 Felony Possession of a Scheduled II Controlled Substance, clearing out 4 Felony Warrants and 30 Misdemeanor Warrants. 11 of the suspects were transported to the Criminal Justice Center on Warrants with 2 of those individuals obtaining an additional Felony Drug charge each. HOT Officers also provided resources and offered individuals transportation to the Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) if they needed assistance in getting to SRM.
