On 12/08/2023 at approximately 15:09 hours, Officers from the Stetson Hills Division responded to the 3300 Block of N. Academy Blvd. to investigate a report of individuals passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers located the vehicle and it fit the description of a prior reported stolen motor vehicle. When Officers attempted contact with the occupants, the driver moved the vehicle striking 2-Police Cruiser and sped away. This was a localized incident, no immediate danger to the public.
On 12/08/2023, at 2:48 PM, members of the Colorado Springs Police Department, Sand Creek Division, were dispatched to the intersection of Airport Rd and Chelton Rd regarding a traffic crash involving an automobile and a pedestrian. Upon officers’ arrival the pedestrian was transported from the scene by AMR to a local hospital. Officers learned when the pedestrian arrived at the hospital, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Officers further learned that the automobile involved left the scene prior to contact with officers. Due to the nature of the crash the Major Crash Team was contacted and responded to the scene to assume the investigation. The investigation showed that the pedestrian was crossing Airport Rd from the south to the north and may not have been in the cross walk at the time of the crash. The vehicle was traveling west on Airport Rd and continued west after the crash. It is early in the investigation and detectives are still developing suspect vehicle information.

Officers from the Sand Creek Division responded to the 3600 block of Overton Street for a report of a disturbance involving a weapon. The reporting party claimed to have been attacked with a machete by his landlord. Upon arrival the officers were able to contact the reporting party, who was uncooperative. They also contacted the landlord. The investigation did not substantiate the reporting party’s version of events. Officers left the scene but were immediately called back for a disturbance. The new investigation revealed the original reporting party threatened to shoot the landlord’s adult son. Officers were able to safely evacuate the landlord and family. The Tactical Enforcement Unit was contacted. The suspect peacefully surrendered.

On 12/06/2023 at approximately 1404 hours, officers with the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), were notified of a camp/trespassing complaint in the 1400 block of South Nevada Avenue, behind and on the north side of the businesses located on the west side of Nevada Avenue. HOT Officers arrived on scene and observed at least 2 to 3 individuals fleeing the area while detaining 6 additional individuals regarding the camping/trespassing complaint. HOT Officers caught up with 2 of the fleeing subjects and detained them regarding the complaints. During the investigation HOT Officers recovered a total of 306 Fentanyl pills (48.53 grams), 7.68 grams of Methamphetamine, .35 grams of Heroin and 2.21 grams of Xanax along with $814 of US Currency. Additionally, officers cleared out 5 Felony Warrants, 3 Misdemeanor Warrants, cited 1 for Drug Paraphernalia, 1 for Misdemeanor Drug Possession and 1 for Interference/Resisting. Transported to CJC was Shanna Kelly (33) on a Parole Violation Warrant and for Distribution of a Scheduled II Controlled Substance, Korbin Killen (26) on 2 Felony Warrants and for Distribution of a Scheduled II Controlled Substance, Adrian Watson (21) on a Felony Warrant, and Autumn Rimbert (31) on a Misdemeanor Warrant with the additional charge of Interference/Resisting. Turned over to Parole regarding a Parole Violation Warrant was Jeremy Gatz (46).

On 12/05/23 at approximately 1649 hours Stetson Hills shift I and shift II officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Palmer Park Blvd for a potential unreported steal that belonged to the victim of a previous assault. The reporting party stated that the vehicle was stolen by the assault suspect from the previous case and that she believed that he was currently in the vehicle. Patrol officers with the assistance of TEU and K9 performed a non contact block and were able to take the individual in the vehicle into custody.
